About Nectar
What services does Nectar offer?
Nectar offers FDM and resin 3D printing, 3D scanning, laser cutting and engraving, CNC, CAD design, software development, electronics integration and prototyping from León, Guanajuato.
Can you quote prototypes and custom parts?
Yes. We quote prototypes, functional parts, scale models, displays, technical components and custom developments.
Do you only work in León or also in other cities?
We operate from León, Guanajuato. Physical orders can be collected from the workshop, and we can also ship throughout Mexico.
Do I need a finished file to request a quote?
No. You can share an idea, photograph, sketch, physical part or existing file. We will review whether modeling, scanning, reverse engineering or adjustments are needed before manufacturing.
How is a project priced?
Pricing depends on the process, dimensions, quantity, complexity, finish and required date. In addition to materials, it covers the research, design, testing, integration and manufacturing time needed for the project scope. All prices include VAT. A formal quote is confirmed after reviewing the technical scope.
How long does manufacturing take?
Lead time depends on the process, quantity, material availability and finish. The confirmed schedule starts once the scope is approved and the requested deposit is received.
What warranty applies to the work?
Nectar evaluates manufacturing defects against the approved specifications. Details, exclusions and reporting instructions are available in the warranty policy.
Quotes, payments and delivery
What information do you need to quote my project?
Share the intended use, quantity, dimensions, preferred material and color, finish and target date. Include available files, drawings, photos or references, critical dimensions and any budget or operating constraints. If you do not have a file yet, we can review your idea or physical part to determine what is needed.
Which file formats do you accept: STL, 3MF, STEP, DXF or SVG?
For 3D printing we review STL, STEP, 3MF and OBJ files. For laser work you can share DXF, SVG, PDF, AI or a reference image; for CNC, DXF, STEP, SVG or a dimensioned drawing. The format and any necessary adjustments are reviewed for the process: an image or reference does not automatically replace a manufacturing-ready file.
Are design and file corrections charged separately?
The scope of design, modeling and file preparation is defined in the quote. Corrections to customer files, new versions and changes after approval may be quoted separately and require authorization before additional work is carried out. CAD service does include tolerance adjustments; design changes are not included.
Quotation termsDoes the quote include VAT, and can you issue a tax invoice?
Yes, we issue tax invoices. All our prices include VAT. VAT applies even if you do not need a tax invoice and is not removed from the price when you do not request one.
Which payment methods do you accept, and what deposit is required?
We accept all payment methods. A 60% deposit is normally required; if the type or scope of the project calls for a different percentage, it will be stated in the quote. The balance is due before delivery or shipping unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Quotation termsCan I change or cancel my project after approving it?
You can request changes after approval; they may affect the price and schedule and require authorization for additional work. If you cancel, deposits applied to completed work, purchased materials or reserved capacity are not refundable. Any remaining credit is determined by progress and commitments already made, under the quotation terms.
Quotation termsHow can I check the progress of my order?
You can check progress by contacting Nectar directly through our contact channels. Share your order reference or project details when requesting an update.
Contact NectarDo you offer rush orders?
Yes, we accept urgent requests and review the schedule according to the type of work. Printing jobs usually allow more flexibility; larger projects require additional time to complete. Feasibility and timing are confirmed for each project.
Can I collect my order or request shipping?
Physical orders can be collected from our workshop. We can also ship throughout Mexico. When requesting a quote, indicate whether you will collect the order or need shipping, and provide the destination so it can be included in the quote.
Do you offer volume or production-run discounts?
Yes, we offer volume discounts. Tell us how many parts or units you need so the quote can take your order volume into account.
3D printing, materials and finishes
What is the difference between FDM and resin printing, and which should I choose?
FDM builds parts from filament and suits functional prototypes, larger parts and short runs where scale and cost matter. Resin suits small parts, miniatures, masters and work requiring fine detail or a more uniform surface. The final choice depends on the intended use, material, size and finish.
Which material do you recommend for parts exposed to loads, heat or outdoor use?
Material selection depends on actual use: temperature, loads, outdoor exposure, required rigidity or flexibility and the expected finish. Share these conditions when requesting a quote so we can review a suitable material and process. Required strength or special performance must be defined and approved in writing; color alone is not enough to select a material.
Where can I check available materials and colors?
On the 3D Printing page, each technology’s information shows its in-stock materials and colors: filaments under FDM and resins under SLA/MSLA. Stock refreshes automatically while the page is visible, and you can also use Refresh. Confirm the required quantity and finish when requesting your quote.
View materials and colorsCan I request a material or color you do not currently stock?
Yes. Within the FDM or resin printer information on the 3D Printing page, open Request or recommend a material or Request or suggest a color. You can suggest materials we do not yet offer. Requests help prioritize purchases; submitting one does not create an order or confirm that the material is already available.
View materials and colorsWhat is the maximum size you can manufacture? Can large parts be split and assembled?
We can print up to 80 × 80 × 100 cm with FDM and up to 33 × 18.5 × 40 cm with resin. For larger parts, we can split the design into sections and assemble them. Splitting and assembly are reviewed against the project’s intended use and requirements.
What accuracy and tolerances can I expect?
Tolerances are defined for each project and depend on the process settings. In FDM 3D printing, they can vary with layer height and nozzle size, among other factors. Share your part’s critical dimensions and fit requirements so tolerances can be reviewed before manufacturing is confirmed.
Is post-processing included in the quote?
The cost of post-processing is included in the job quote. Review the quoted scope to see which post-processing is covered for your parts.
Do you offer sanding and painting?
Yes, we offer sanding and painting as post-processing options. Specify the finish you need when requesting your project so it can be covered in the scope. The cost of post-processing is included in the job quote.
Design, scanning and files
Can you reproduce a replacement from a broken part?
We can review a physical part, photographs and measurements to assess reproduction through scanning, CAD design or reverse engineering before manufacturing. A broken part may require reconstructing geometry and confirming dimensions and operating conditions; feasibility and scope are reviewed before quoting.
Does 3D scanning include an editable CAD model, or is that quoted separately?
Scanning does not automatically produce editable CAD. The scan produces a mesh or geometry reference; reconstructing an editable model through reverse engineering is quoted separately. Specify whether you need a mesh, a print file, a model for redesign or a particular format so the deliverable can be defined.
How many revisions are included with CAD design?
CAD design does not include design changes; it does include tolerance adjustments. If you need to modify the design, share the requested changes so their scope and quotation can be reviewed.
Can I request editable files or source code?
Yes, you can request editable files, source code and other project deliverables. Each requested deliverable has an additional cost and is quoted separately. Specify which ones you need when requesting a quote so they can be covered in the scope.
Can you enter into a confidentiality agreement?
Yes, we can enter into confidentiality agreements when needed. If your project requires one, mention it when contacting us so its terms can be agreed.
Laser and CNC
Which materials can you laser cut or engrave?
Our main CO₂ laser process works with compatible materials such as acrylic, MDF, cardboard and plywood. We also review promotional objects for engraving and personalization. Feasibility depends on the material, thickness, coating, response to heat and required finish; share those details before requesting a quote.
Can I provide my own materials or objects for personalization?
Yes, we can accept customer-supplied materials or objects for cutting, engraving or personalization. Share the material type, thickness, dimensions and desired finish so we can review compatibility with the process before confirming the work.
Which files, measurements and specifications do you need for CNC work?
Share a DXF, STEP, SVG or dimensioned technical drawing, plus the material, thickness, quantity and intended use. Specify critical tolerances and dimensions and the operations required, such as cutting, slotting or engraving. We review the geometry, tooling and workholding limitations before confirming manufacture.
Electronics and programming
Can you combine mechanical parts, electronics and programming in one project?
Yes. Nectar combines mechanical design, manufacturing, electronics and software for integrated projects. We can review sensors, motor control, physical interfaces, IoT and housings or mounts made by 3D printing, laser or CNC. Design, manufacturing, programming, testing and adjustments are defined in the quote scope.
Do electronics projects include source code, diagrams and operating instructions?
Source code, diagrams and operating instructions can be requested as deliverables. Each deliverable has an additional cost and is quoted separately. Request the ones you need when obtaining a quote for your electronics project.
Courses and certificates
Which materials do I need for a course?
The materials needed depend on the course. Check the materials and requirements in the course description, or contact Nectar to confirm what you need before enrolling.
Which courses include an IECA certificate?
All Nectar courses include an IECA certificate. This certificate documents successful completion of the training course and the competencies developed during it.
